Just back home after two very successful days of campaigning against MGM outside the Conservative party conference, an initiative we’ve undertaken annually since 2015, and plan to continue for many years to come. My warmest thanks to Ewan, Rod, Alistair, Geoff, Douglas, Mike P, David, Andy, Eddie, Logan, and others, for their indefatigable commitment to the protests this year. The dinners on the Sunday and Monday evenings were something special, it’s always such a treat socialising with these wonderful people.

We handed out a record number of leaflets, and engaged in more, and more productive, conversations than at previous conferences. We faced very little hostility, and a large number of conference attendees quietly expressed their support as they passed by. Year after year, it’s becoming clearer that ever more people understand what a human rights assault MGM is on male minors, as well the cause of physical injuries, ethical violations, psychological harms etc.

MGM is on the wrong side of history, and I hope to live long enough to see the state treat it with the same seriousness as FGM, starting by making the 1985 FGM Act gender-neutral.

Once again Ewan Jones was the chief video maker, and we look forward to the results of his work in due course. Rod and I captured some interesting footage on our bodycams, which we hope to edit and publish before the end of this week. We think you’ll enjoy it.
