talkRADIO: Badass Women’s Hour – update

Yesterday we posted a piece about a forthcoming 35-minute discussion on the talkRADIO show Badass Women’s Hour, in which Elizabeth Hobson and I would be discussing with the show’s three feminist presenters the topics, “Voices for Men / The Non-Feminist Declaration”. Today we received the following email from the (female) producer:

Hi Mike/Elizabeth,

This interview has been cancelled – my apologies.

After talks with my team, they have decided to go in a different direction, resulting in the cancellation of this segment.

I can only apologize for any inconvenience caused, and thank you for your time.

Kind regards

Badass Women’s Hour – not so “badass” after all, it turns out.

EXCLUSIVE: Camille Mijola, 50.50 “journalist”, being savagely attacked by MRAs, one just four weeks old and asleep

[Update 14.8.18: The feminist on the left of the picture was originally identified as Lara Whyte, the prime author of the recent scurrilous 50.50 hit piece on the conference. Our thanks to Sean for confirming she’s Camille Mijola, another 50.50 “journalist”, who provided “additional reporting”.]

Our thanks to Sean for this image from the conference. Lara Whyte, feminist and 50.50 “journalist”, is on the left. In the middle is Natty Raymond, an MRA, with her second child. She’s been paid the customary £1,000 by The Patriarchy Council for committing to bring him up as an MRA, in common with her first child, who is of the female persuasion. On the right is Jordan “Natty” Holbrook, an evil patriarch by any standards.

talkRADIO: Badass Women’s Hour: “Voices for Men / The Non-Feminist Declaration”

Elizabeth Hobson and I will be appearing on talkRADIO, an internet-only broadcaster, 20:25 – 21:00 next Saturday, 18 August. I believe the programme will start at 20:00. The topic on Badass Women’s Hour will be, “Voices for Men / The Non-Feminist Declaration”. Needless to say, we’ll be outnumbered by feminist presenters – Harriet Minter, June Sarpong, and Natalie Campbell.

Last year, Harriet Minter appeared with Professor Eric Anderson on This Morning, with Piers Morgan and Susanna Reid. Video pieces totalling 9:16 are on YouTube – here and here.

Listeners are invited to call into the programme, email, or tweet. We hope you’ll do so.

The website for The Non-Feminist Declaration is here. We invite you to join Paul Elam, Elizabeth, myself, and others, in becoming a signatory to it. Thanks.

Ireland: Chantelle Craig, 21, involved in vicious assault, escapes conviction (not “escapes pubishment”, but “escapes conviction”)

Our thanks to Sean for this. Extracts:

A young woman who admitted her part in a “vicious” assault on a woman, who was pulled from her doorway and repeatedly hit, has avoided conviction.

Chantelle Craig (21) was involved in an assault on the victim, who was punched and kicked “on numerous occasions” on the driveway of her home.

Judge David McHugh struck out the charge, leaving Craig without a conviction, [J4MB emphasis] after she paid €250 compensation to the injured party and wrote a letter of apology to her.

As part of the restorative justice process, the defendant also completed 10 hours of voluntary work and attended anger management classes…

Defence solicitor John Shanley said the case was before the court for finalisation, after Craig completed the restorative justice programme.

Mr Shanley asked the judge to leave Craig without a conviction, saying she had not come to the attention of the courts since the incident. [J4MB emphasis]

Lara Whyte (50.50) interviews Karen Straughan (and Alistair) at ICMI18

Another piece from Lara Whyte, the feminist “journalist” who attended ICMI18 and wrote a hit piece on it. A line at the bottom of this new piece (you can add comments at the end, I encourage you to do so):

50.50 is an independent feminist media platform

Ms Whyte kicks off with some woeful commentary, including:

I wrote a dispatch on the conference for 50.50 and promptly received torrents of abuse – as the conference organiser emailed all attendees urging them to troll me in the comments section of our website.

I emailed all conference attendees to read the article, and comment as they saw fit – to a feminist, this is seemingly “trolling”. Ms Whyte portrays conference attendees pointing out the many ways in which her article was flawed as “abuse”.

Why are modern men obsessed with self-improvement?

Our thanks to James for this link. It raises some reasonable concerns – about the rises in anorexia and steroid use in men – and is, I think, correct in noticing an uptake in ‘self-improvement’ for men. It even acknowledges the impact of a culture that insists that masculinity should be ‘detoxified’…

However, it is saturated with male-shaming language.
