So basically, universal suffrage came about because only by the end of the 19th century enough middle to upper working class men had managed to get the vote, and they used this new power to out vote the rich to get EVERYONE the vote once the war was over.
The suffragettes only campaigned for the vote for other property owning middle class women and had no interest in universal suffrage. Obviously the men had more consideration of others than the suffragettes.
I suggest the men who brought about universal suffrage get the credit they deserve from now on, and not the often criminal, elitist women, who probably sent many a teenage school boy to their death in the war, with their white feather shaming.
