  1. Good news. Not that the BBC will do anything to “correct” the impression only women need apply. But an example of the Equality Act being used. The presumption that the act is only for women is widely made but it is not true. However if no one uses it as Hequal does then men’s rights will remain forgotten. The point is often simply to quote it. There is of course all sorts of “positive action” that stops just short of being obviously discrimination against men however the only legal direct discrimination and that is women only selection lists in political Parties, and to do it they had to create a special time limited law to suspend the Equality Act. Men don’t need to “whine” or be “wimps” simply demand the Equality Act is applied. Rights only exist if they are enforced and this will not happen unless someone pushes for their enforcement. That someone has to be you and me.

  2. A female feminist will, of course, still win, but we can take some satisfaction from the fact that someone in the BBC choked on their muesli when they realised they would have to at least make token changes to the rules.

    • Women beat men far more frequently when judgment is subjective than when it’s objective. Being the BBC, the ‘judges’ will be feminists whether female or male. I go to Netflix for my comedy.
