Wolf whistling and sexist remarks could become hate crimes in London
Our thanks to Dave for this. How predictable that the Metropolitan Police, headed by Cressida Dick, a lesbian, should jump on this bandwagon. The start of the piece:
Wolf whistling or making sexist remarks on London’s streets could become a hate crime.
The Metropolitan Police today revealed it is speaking with other UK forces to assess whether it is worth cracking down on gender-based hate crimes after a pilot scheme was launched in the East Midlands last year.
The trial, led by Nottinghamshire Police, saw sexist incidents like street harassment, verbal abuse and taking photos without consent recorded as hate crimes, carrying tougher penalties for offenders.
Police chiefs are now considering rolling out the idea elsewhere in the UK, suggesting a harsher stance on everyday sexism could stop it escalating into sexual harassment or assault. [J4MB emphasis]
Judge Sylvia de Bertodano blasts prosecutors as Vjekoslav Dvorak, 63, ‘inspirational’ music teacher, found not guilty of sex assault
Our thanks to Ray for this. An extract:
Dvorak had denied three charges of sexually assaulting a schoolgirl when she was aged between 12 and 15 – and the jury at Warwick Crown Court unanimously found him not guilty.
Dvorak taught in both Coventry and Leamington, but had been unable to work following his arrest in May last year over the allegations, said to have taken place at a Coventry school…
After the jury had returned its not guilty verdicts, Judge de Bertodano commented: “Those who are in charge of decisions to prosecute should take very, very great care indeed before doing so in a case such as this.
“I am quite sure that no jury in the land would have convicted Mr Dvorak in this case.
Surely the judge must be aware that it’s been years since the likelihood of conviction has been a consideration in whether or not to charge men for sexual offences. To Alison Saunders and her underlings at the CPS, the ‘public interest’ always lies in assaulting the human rights of men.
Men are now officially second class citizens – so what are we doing about it?
A recently-published piece on a blog run by an American lawyer. The site – Justice for Men – was launched in July 2016 but hasn’t been drawn to our attention before.
Lavinia Woodward, 24-year-old Oxford University student who avoided jail after stabbing boyfriend, launches fight against suspended sentence

Our thanks to a number of followers for this. An extract:
Mark Brooks, chair of the domestic abuse charity Mankind Initiative, added that if the genders were reversed, many would expect a man who committed this type of crime “to go to prison, and rightly so”.
Woodward, 24, has now applied for permission to take her case to the court of appeal to have her suspended sentence revoked. A judge will now review her application before deciding whether she can go ahead with the appeal.
Nunzia Del Viscio, 43-year old Edinburgh woman, ripped out man’s testicle with teeth. Avoids jail.
Our thanks to Ray for this. An extract:
Del Viscio told Sheriff McCormack she had been drinking vodka during the evening and taken drugs in the toilet of the nightclub. Her solicitor asked her how was her memory of the latter part of the evening and she replied: “There are things I can’t remember”. In court today, Mr Templeton said the Social Work Report put his client as at low risk of re-offending, that she led an otherwise productive life with a good record of employment and what had happened had been caused by alcohol and drugs.
Yet again alcohol and/or drugs are considered mitigating circumstances for a women, while for a man they’d be considered aggravating circumstances.
Police chiefs debate possibility of making misogyny a hate crime
An absurd piece in HuffPo. It’s perfectly reasonable to hate Maria Miller MP, Jess Phillips MP, Yvette Balls MP, Harriet Harman MP, Sue Fish, Alison Saunders, and many other women who use their power and influence to attack the human rights of men and boys, but that doesn’t make it misogyny. Likewise, hating manginas such as ACC Mark Hamilton isn’t evidence of misandry.
Labelling millennials ‘snowflakes’ damages their mental health, reveals survey of 16-24 year old snowflake millennials
Our thanks to William for this. An extract:
Some 46 per cent of young adults say they have suffered from anxiety in the past 12 months – significantly higher than the 35 per cent recorded by adults.
It comes after the Government’s behaviour tsar last February labelled students who demand to be protected from controversial views as snowflakes.
Tom Bennett said that the problem began at school when too many children were protected from the ‘harsher realities of the world’.
And last month the Mail on Sunday uncovered that growing numbers of ‘snowflake’ students are appealing for special exemptions after missing essay deadlines.
Our paper’s investigation found top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, were inundated with thousands of appeals last year – because students overslept. [J4MB emphasis]
Anne Delessio-Parson, Argentinian fruitcake: “Eating meat perpetuates ‘hegemonic masculinity’ and ‘gender hegemony’. Vegetarianism isn’t just a lifestyle choice, but a feminist act.”
A tip of the hat to Campus Reform, a commendable American website, for this interview with an Argentinian fruitcake, Anne Delesio-Parson. Ms DP is described in the headline and article as a Sociology professor, but she’s not. Her website page at PennState College of the Liberal Arts is here, showing her to be a ‘PhD candidate’ – a postgraduate student, then – and her CV is here. An extract from the article:
In the most recent issue of the Journal of Feminist Geography, professor Anne DeLessio-Parson argues that “hegemonic masculinity implies an imperative to eat meat” and that this helps reify other power hierarchies as well.
Vegetarians also contribute to the destabilization of the gender binary, she argued.
“The decision to become vegetarian does not itself destabilize gender, but the subsequent social interactions between vegetarian and meat-eater demand gender enactment—or resistance,” DeLessio-Parson discovered.
“Refusing meat therefore presents opportunities, in each social interaction, for the binary to be called into question,” she said, noting that women, for example, may not consider dating men who eat meat, while male vegetarians might end up spending more time in the kitchen as opposed to outside on the grill, all actions which can destabilize gender norms.
Mainstream media and the shameless manipulation of women
Our thanks to Bryan for a lengthy but interesting piece, not without some flaws. An early extract:
In an age where newspaper circulation is down and alternative media influence is up, newspapers need to maintain a business model which is realistic and profitable, while retaining their dwindling relevancy. They achieve this mostly through advertising – and they are increasingly desperate to increase their online advertising revenue as hard copy sales take a hit. Companies pay newspapers to advertise their products so as to reach their target demographic. Interestingly, many people fail to realise that most companies’ preferred target demographic is women.
Worldwide, 80% of all purchases are made by women. Let that fact sink in for a moment. Men may make more money than women, by working longer hours, engaged in more dangerous careers and entering professions which are more difficult but pay better, such as engineering – but women still spend more money that men do. If you want to sell your product, even if that product is aimed at men, you also target women, as they usually control the purse strings in relationships and the family unit. So when advertisers want to sell something, they know their best chance of capitalising their return on advertising investment (ROI), is to reach out to the main decision maker in financial matters, which is usually women.
So, in their desperate quest to maintain profit margins, newspapers need to deliver the female demographic to potential advertisers. Doing so gives good ROI to the advertisers and makes strong business sense to the publisher.
So how do newspapers deliver the female demographic to their advertisers? The answer is ruthless manipulation, for which longterm exposure is damaging to women, men, and society as a whole. Before explaining how this manipulation works, there are some facts which need to be stated.
