Well, yeah, maybe. But the flood waters are flowing in the opposite direction. Look at what is happening in all the major professions like education, the law, medicine. Look at who is going to be educated in the future and who isn’t. Look at who runs all the HR departments. I’m always shocked at our annual staff Christmas lunch when you look around and realise how much over the last year the balance has shifted and how many more women than men have been employed. Every time a male colleague leaves, he is replaced by a woman. Yes, the IT and maintenance departments are still predominantly male, but as some of the comments to Paul’s article noted, these are service roles; the better paid positions are not going to men. Paul’s idea might apply to some old-fashioned companies which don’t yet employ many women or might have worked a decade or two ago, before things got as bad as they now are but #MikePenceRules looks much like #MGTOW: it will make a few men feel better, but in the great scheme of things it may turn out to be increasingly irrelevant. But, hey, let’s hope I’m wrong.
