A piece in The Irish Times. George Soros is, of course, infamous for funding ‘progressive’ causes and organizations. Breitbart too has published a piece on the Amnesty International in Ireland story. It ends:
Soros’s organisations have been working across the world to undermine nations’ cultures, autonomy, and laws, with Hungary most notably hitting back by pushing for legislation on greater transparency of foreign-funded NGOs and universities – both directly affecting Soros interests.
In response, the European Union has threatened Hungary with probes and legal action. Leaked documents reveal that at least 226 Members of European Parliament are considered “reliable allies” of Soros.
In late 2015, while we were searching for a venue to host ICMI16, we approached an Amnesty International venue in London which, on the face of it, could have been perfect. The venue staff refused to even have a phone conversation on the matter, denying us the opportunity to host a conference at the venue on the basis J4MB is an anti-feminist organization, and Amnesty a pro-feminist one. Amnesty were making it clear it didn’t give a damn about the human rights of men and boys as a class. Our blog piece on the matter is here.
Amnesty have joined the long list of organisations subsumed by the left in general, along with many ‘green’ entities which are now often described as ‘water melons’, since they are green on the outside, red on the inside.
Also especially feminism (or feMarxism as I tend to call it, which is an apt description that has not gained that much currency – yet) which is so often our focus here!

True. The entire cohort of politically-themed non-governmental organisations (NGOs), including human rights, and overseas development and nature-conservation, has been overtaken by Cultural Marxism. These NGO’s promote a transparently Feminist agenda wheresoever possible and, given that they are highly effective lobbyists of political power, their malignancy is as insidious as the malignancy of government itself.

Like Oxfam Amnesty went from a focus on the horrors in parts of the world with really desperate problems to championing feminism in the UK. Now Amnesty is as much involved in the UK domestic violence industry as it is championing prisoners of conscience. And I suspect the casual donator to Oxfam would be surprised how much of its attention is on “first world” problems (body shaming, women into STEM, childcare for working mothers) rather than famine relief.
