Government orders civil servants to avoid calling taxpayers ‘he’ and ‘she’ or assuming a ‘Mr’ is male so transgender people are not offended

Our thanks to Mike P for this. The start of the piece:

Civil servants should avoid using gendered pronouns like ‘he’ and ‘she’ or assuming someone with the title ‘Mr’ is male, according to the latest government directives.

The rules, which apply to all Whitehall departments, are intended to avoid causing offence to people whose chosen gender does not identify with their biological sex.

Enter a voice of sanity:

Philip Davies, MP for Shipley, called the directives – which were last updated in December 2016 and remain current – ‘politically-correct claptrap’.

‘If the government has nothing better to worry about than this then that is a pretty sad state of affairs,’ he told MailOnline.

‘There’s a huge majority of the public who are actually rather offended by this political correctness.

‘If they concerned themselves more with people concerned with this nonsense they might actually get somewhere.

‘The world has gone mad and the government seem to be at the vanguard of making it mad.’

MPs could get SIX MONTHS of maternity leave on full pay under new plan backed by Speaker John Bercow

Sheer madness, as you’d expect of any proposal from the Harperson. Women will seek to become (or remain) MPs in order to get 6 months paid maternity leave – or multiples thereof – not available elsewhere. In the meantime people who’ve voted for them will have to be represented by people they haven’t elected, at additional cost to the taxpayer (probably two women working part-time). If the MP was selected from a Labour all-women shortlist, will her replacement(s) have to be female too? You can bet they will.

Topless feminists in Argentina throw firebombs, tampons and faeces at a Catholic Church in a pro-abortion protest

Appalling. The start of the piece:

Pro-abortion feminists in Argentina staged a violent, topless protest Sunday to demand taxpayer-funded abortions and cultural acceptance of prostitution.

Crux reports protesters vandalized several buildings, including a Catholic cathedral in Argentina during the pro-abortion “Boob Protest.” Local news reports indicate the pro-abortion protesters threw rocks, a Molotov cocktail, bottles, tampons and feces, as well as balloons filled with paint. They also painted walls with messages such as “Death to the pope” and “Lesbianize yourself.”

New Zealand: Susan Elizabeth Mouat, violent alcoholic wife, convicted of manslaughter of her husband, 48. 11 months home detention.

Our thanks to William for this. An extract:

Churchman set a starting point of 22 months in jail for the offending, before adding two months for her 18 previous convictions. That included 17 between 1988 and 2011.

He had also taken out a protection order against Susan five years before they were married.

The 18th conviction, which came after his death, was for drunk driving.

Churchman considered mitigating factors such as her guilty plea, admission to police and remorse and reduced her sentence to 17.34 months in jail which he then converted to 11 months home detention.
