William Collins: How the new definition of online hate crime marks a slippery slope to totalitarianism

Excellent. At the end of the piece there’s this, ‘About the author’:

William Collins is a professional engineer and theoretical physicist. He has recently discovered that “retired” means “differently employed”. He has been married since forever and has two 30-ish sons. He used to have no interest in politics but has reluctantly accepted that politics appears to have an interest in him.

We’re hoping William will give a presentation at ICMI18. His pieces always attract a lot of interest.

  1. I might well have written this myself, but didn’t quite manage it as it happens.

Ah – that would have something to do with it then.
