  1. He does indeed. As always his Graphs are particularly telling. I think his final point is very important. The message that the inaccurate headlines give to parents that boys are doing just fine. When in fact we know that the “gender gaps” in education demonstrate a very different story indeed.
    This is important because these gaps are gross and affect hundreds of thousands of children and their parents (millions overall) . So frankly, unlike many other issues that are about the unfair treatment to males, this is something that has huge potential. So the DM at least headlines 60,000 more girls get Uni places. I do think this is an important issue to keep pushing, just the “gap” data especially graphically shown. Without going into any possible solutions the first thing to get into public and political consciousness is that there is a series of gaps that lead up to the big gap in University applications, places and attainments. In other words start parents wondering about their sons.
