The website returns… but for how long?

It’s been a frustrating few days, to say the least, but the website is again ‘live’. You may well ask, ‘For how much longer?’ I have no idea, but I thank you for your patience and support.

A Man’s Guide to Love and Lasting Relationships

A sign in a pub, The Five Bells, in Cople – a village near the throbbing metropolis of Bedford, my home town. The town has a proud history of guitar-based music in pubs since the 60s. My second book Guitar Gods in Beds. (2008) consists of the biographies of eight local guitarists, one of whom turned down an offer to work with David Bowie, before Bowie became famous.  He later played in a band supporting Charles Aznavour and loathed the man. On Amazon two pre-owned paperback copies are currently selling from £89.94, the Kindle edition for a slightly more reasonable £3.00.

To my amazement, my first book Profitable Buying Strategies, a hardback published by Kogan Page earlier in the same year, is still available in both paperback and Kindle ebook editions, £35.00 and £33.25. My author’s page on Amazon is here.

If you have an interest in self-publishing a book, especially if it’s about gender-related matters, I’d be interested in working with you on a commercial basis. Details of my modest concern LPS publishing, through which I’ve self-published nine books (in hardback / paperback / ebook editions), as well as books for other MRAs, here.

William Collins: How the new definition of online hate crime marks a slippery slope to totalitarianism

Excellent. At the end of the piece there’s this, ‘About the author’:

William Collins is a professional engineer and theoretical physicist. He has recently discovered that “retired” means “differently employed”. He has been married since forever and has two 30-ish sons. He used to have no interest in politics but has reluctantly accepted that politics appears to have an interest in him.

We’re hoping William will give a presentation at ICMI18. His pieces always attract a lot of interest.

GCSE results 2017

Excellent. A couple of days ago Anthony T Corniche III, the man who filmed and edited the presentations at ICMI16 and ICMI, filmed the first nine episodes of The Buchanan Files. One episode was on William Collins. I’ll be citing his work frequently in the series.

Mike Buchanan discusses the gender pay gap with three feminists

I was recently in a discussion (video, 26:13) with three feminists, one of them a mangina. It was a rare opportunity to discuss a single issue in some depth, and the three feminists collectively knew little or nothing about the subject. I’ve never enjoyed a televised discussion more. It was broadcast several times on Sky over the ensuing 24 hours. I’ve put a little background in the video description.

@bbccomedy offers sexist women-only £5K prize in order to commemorate female perpetrator of domestic violence

Our thanks to John Kimble (HEqual) for this. He writes:

Just noticed sexist BBC “comedy” offering £5k to northern women comedians. However, the icing on the cake is that it’s to commemorate Caroline Aherne, known for prolonged domestic violence against her ex partner. So they’re celebrating violence against men with a nice bit of sexism against men!
