Our thanks to Mike P for this. An excerpt:
Mrs Tippett was studying for a humanities degree at university and Mr Kerslake, who walks with crutches after hurting his back in a fall, was raising their four children.
Their 19-year marriage ended six years ago and Mr Kerslake has become estranged from his children, aged between seven and 22. [J4MB: He ‘has become estranged’ from his four children – between one and 16 when the marriage ended, if we read that sentence correctly – who he was raising until just six years ago. Hmm, might his ex-wife bear some responsibility for that?] He lives alone in a housing association bungalow in Llanharan, a village near Bridgend in south Wales, while Mrs Tippett works part-time in a church breakfast club.
If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

It is almost impossible to believe that a human being could be so wholly lacking any sort of moral compass. Mr Kerslake’s ex-wife is beyond shameless and I do not know what words could begin to describe such uncontrolled venal avarice. As if it were not deplorable enough to estrange a father from his natural children, the ex-wife apparently considers it reasonable to purloin compensation money that Mr Kerslake had generously set aside in trust to be used for the benefit of other victims of abuse! Mr Kerslake’s ex-wife is sinful and vile in the extreme.

I find it hard to imagine what this judge was thinking of.
Was it some form of self advantage.
Is there money involved somehow, some career advantage
perhaps.
A showing off of P.C. credentials.
Misandry, or Gynocentrism.
A mixture of all six?
One wonders if this judge – who will hide behind his legal privilege – has any insight himself into his own behavior.
How I would like to transport him to some remote location away from his official support structures and have a long and searching conversation about johari windows.
I can only hazard a suggestion that that as a man (of sorts) he – perhaps sub conciously – regards other men as rivals to be bested and thus will use his power to to damage them to his own benefit.
I imagine this item will get a great deal of coverage on the bbc?

Buried in the story is the important point that the jounalists were prevented from attending the Court. They are challenging this as apparently the Law has changed to reduce the secrecy of family courts. Very important they are successful as the egregious unfairness and biases of these courts has hitherto been “hidden” . Making it easy to characterise protesting fathers as just being “sour grapes” , because the actual proceedings are secret and therefore only known to the protagonists.

Good to see a man able to assert his reproductive rights. I hope he’s successful.
