Regrets over the choice of a white man to stand as the Labour candidate in Shipley

Racism and sexism in Shipley. The start of the piece (by a female journalist, predictably):

Labour members have voiced disquiet over the party’s decision to stand a “white man” against firebrand Tory incumbent Philip Davies.

The nation’s eyes will be on the seat at the General Election as Women’s Equality Party leader Sophie Walker takes on Mr Davies, a vocal critic of ‘political correctness’.

And with feminism likely to be high on the political agenda, local Labour members say they had hoped the party would field a strong female candidate.

The ruling National Executive Committee (NEC) last week selected Steve Clapcote, who lost to Mr Davies in 2015. He officially started his campaign with a stall in Shipley market square on Saturday.

Labour member Sara Mogford, of Baildon, said she was incredibly disappointed that Labour chiefs were standing “a white man against Philip Davies – who also lost last time”.

She said: “If they didn’t feel they had anyone good and strong and female to stand against Philip Davies, let’s get behind the Women’s Equality Party.”

The end of the piece:

Ann Cryer, the former Labour MP for Keighley who lives in the Shipley constituency, said: “I think it would have been better had it been a woman, but I’m not going to start complaining and making an issue about it.”

She said party officials had been working incredibly hard to secure candidates quickly.

Mrs Cryer said around a week ago, there had been a meeting to start a Shipley Labour Party women’s forum, and most people there had been of the view that they should stand a candidate rather than endorsing the Women’s Equality Party.

She added: “I think they may not be madly keen about Steve but poor thing, he can’t be a woman. [my emphasis] We can’t do anything about that.”

Gretchen Kelly – Whiny Feminist of the Month

For some time we’ve only presented our Whiny / Gormless / Toxic / Lying Feminist of the Month awards on an occasional basis only, because people long ago grasped that feminists are whiny, gormless, toxic liars.

But Gretchen Kelly, an American woman, has proven herself an exceptional candidate for a Whiny Feminist of the Month award, her certificate is here.

Pope Francis angered by America’s ‘mother of all bombs’ name

Our thanks to Jeff for this. The start of the short piece:

Pope Francis has criticised the naming of the US military’s largest non-nuclear explosive ever used in combat as “the mother of all bombs”.

“I was ashamed when I heard the name,” the pontiff told an audience of students at the Vatican.

“A mother gives life and this one gives death, and we call this device a mother. What is going on?” he asked.

It would have been more appropriate for Pope Francis to refer to the women who’ve been instrumental in the killing of over 9 million unborn children in the UK since the Abortion Act 1967, around the time that almost infallible contraception was made available to women – the contraceptive pill.

Where are the Roman Catholic church’s calls for mass demonstrations against abortion, on the 50th anniversary of that barbaric piece of legislation? Our position on abortion is in our 2015 general election manifesto – here.

Gretchen Kelly and her friends aren’t happy. Oh dear. How sad. Never mind.

Yesterday we posted a link to a silly article Women Are Not Here For You. You Do Not Own Us, written by an equally silly American woman, Gretchen Kelly. Along with others I’ve posted some uncontroversial comments which appear to have agitated Ms Kelly and her feminist allies, including some manginas (the worst of the manginas claims to be a psychologist, disturbingly). I invite you to post your own comments there – or here, if you prefer. Thanks.

Women Are Not Here For You. You Do Not Own Us.

I make a big effort to not have my time wasted by deranged feminist bloggers – I know, I know, ‘deranged’ is implied in ‘feminist’ – but every now and then one writes a piece that is so teeth-grindingly absurd, I feel obliged to respond and bring the piece to the attention of the followers of this blog, for the sake of my sanity. One such piece has just come to my attention, on the ‘Drifting Through’ blog – here. It’s titled, ‘Women Are Not Here For You. You Do Not Own Us.’

The website is the creation of an American woman. On her ‘About’ page she writes:

I’m a writer, a mom of three, and a wanna-be groupie (I love to see live music and sometimes it gets excessive.)

I’ve just posted the following comments:

I have only speed-read your piece, life’s too short to do more than that. It was enough. More than enough.

Your website’s strapline is “Welcome to the inner workings of my mind.” The inner workings of your mind have clearly been polluted by feminist ideology and you are therefore predictably narcissistic, delusional, misandrous, angry, miserable, and whiny. Continue to embrace feminism and remain that way if you wish, but don’t expect psychologically healthy people – i.e. non-feminists and anti-feminists – to give a damn.

Have a nice day.

The Debrief: How much do the women of Shipley care that Philip Davies is their MP?

An over-long piece by a feminist, but the interviews with young women in Shipley are illuminating. The same website has a section on sex tips, answering such important questions as Ever thought of giving your friend an orgasm for Christmas?

The fundraiser to finance videos of the presentations at the third International Conference on Men’s Issues (Australia)

With only five weeks remaining before the next International Conference on Men’s Issues, in Australia, time is rapidly running out to fund flights and other costs of Anthony Corniche, the man who did such a great job filming and editing the talks at the London conference last July – here (scroll down to 8-10 July). He’ll be earning nothing for his efforts.

Anthony will be devoting an enormous amount of time and effort to the project – post-filming editing takes up far more time and effort than the filming itself – and if his fundraiser isn’t successful, there won’t be a video record of the conference presentations. He recently posted this on the website:

Everyone who has and will donate is going to get a credit on the videos when released.

The bigger the donation the bigger the credit text.

I will contact donors when in editing process around the end of June or early July.

£1,060 of the £2,000 target has been raised to date, so a further £940 is required. It’s a small sum when you consider what will be delivered if a further £940 is raised – the conference presentations will be filmed, edited, and published on the J4MB and AVfM websites, and you’ll be able to watch them at no cost.

Please donate what you can, to help make this important project a reality. Thanks.
