A mystery donor, and the Australian conference

We’ve received a nice card and a £10 note, the message in the card consists only of, ‘£10 donation enclosed’. We thank the mystery donor, who hopefully will see this piece.

If you’re in a position to make a donation, we suggest you donate to the crowdfunder to fund Tom Corniche and his assistant to fly to the Australian conference in June – only two months away – to film and edit the presentations. Details here, a direct link to the crowdfunder here. It will be a very dark day if it turns out that people concerned with men’s issues will not collectively fund the video recording and editing of talks at the major annual conference on men’s issues. The videos, if made, will be made publicly available at no cost to the public, in line with the policy at the 2014 and 2016 conferences. Thanks.

Germaine Greer admits the central thesis of ‘The Female Eunuch’ – that most men are misogynists – was a fabrication, a lie

I’ve just had a call from a lady supporter to say she heard an interview of Germaine Greer on BBC radio this morning, and she assumed I’d heard about it. I hadn’t – surprisingly, with hindsight.

Ms Greer apparently admitted that the central thesis of The Female Eunuch (1970) – that most men are misogynists – was a fabrication, a lie. She went on to say she’d been utterly amazed when it was widely believed and became influential, and went on to say something along the lines of, ‘It’s self-evident that most women hate men as a class, and of course all feminists do, it’s one of their defining characteristics’.

It’s been 45 years since the damnable book was published, but we tip the hat to Ms Greer for finally admitting the truth. Better late than never.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.
