Belinda Brown: Women’s Equality Party is about cushy jobs for the girls

With the general election just a few weeks away – the key contests being in Shipley (Davies v Walker) and Birmingham Yardley (Hemming v Phillips) – I thought it timely to post again a piece published on TCW a little over a year ago.

The snow continues to fall, the drifts around the house are building up, at this rate I won’t be catching my flight back tomorrow. I can think of far worse places to be trapped than a vast log-built house in the Rocky Mountains, with fine company. Paul Elam has just cooked a steak dinner, I didn’t know steak could taste so good.

Donald Trump to strip all funding from State Department team promoting women’s rights around the world

Our retreat in a large log-built house 8,000 feet up in the Rocky Mountains, with Paul Elam and others, is proving both productive and pleasurable. This morning it was warm, with bright sunshine, this afternoon it’s snowing hard.

Our thanks to Martin for some good news. Let’s hope this is just the first of a raft of measures from the Trump administration stripping feminists of funding.

David Moyes: Sunderland manager charged by FA over ‘slap’ comment

Our thanks to Stu for this. Moyes should never have apologised for a remark that was clearly meant in a humorous spirit, and taken as such, I believe. An apology implies wrongdoing, even when there was none. It’s the reason that Ched Evans is to be commended for not having apologised to a woman with whom he had sex, leading to his vexatious prosecution, conviction, and imprisonment for a rape that never happened.

Karen Straughan responds to Professor Jordan Peterson’s comments on MGTOW

Well worth catching (video, 42:33). I’m really looking forward to catching up with Karen again at ICMI17 in Gold Coast, Australia. On the subject of which, please donate what you can to the fundraiser which will mean videos of the conference presentations will be produced and posted on this website, and that of AVfM. They will be free to view. The target is £2,000, and £1,060 has been raised to date. Thanks for your support.

Office closure

I’ll be flying to the United States tomorrow morning, for several days of meetings with Paul Elam and other MRAs. The office will close at 19:00 today, and re-open 09:00 next Tuesday, 2 May. I’ll be checking emails (mike@j4mb.org.uk) and phone messages (07967 026163) from time to time.

Yorkshire Feminists Feel “Betrayed” By The Women’s Equality Party Leader’s Bid To Become Their Local MP

A piece on Buzzfeed News. In common with every other media article I’ve seen on this matter, it was written by a female journalist. Two glaring errors:

Davies, a self-confessed men’s rights activist… [We know from a New Statesman interview that he doesn’t self-identify as a MRA.]

Davies, who has held the seat as a Conservative MP since 2012… [Simply looking at his Wikipedia entry would have informed this lazy journalist that Davies was elected in 2005.]
