Caitlin Moran: Girls and women shouldn’t read books written by men

Disgusting. I subscribe to the Times despite this appalling narcissist occupying so many column inches. In How to be a Woman she described having had an abortion without the slightest regret, adding for good measure that the foetus was male.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

  1. Our women have completely gone mad. Just like kids without supervision, I’m afraid to say. The conclusion is that the gentleman code of conduct is the ultimate breeding grounds for feminism and whims of our women. The only way to defeat feminism is to stop according the gentleman treatment to women. I know this because I see that women in societies where the gentleman culture does not exist are far more sober minded and men friendly that western women are today.

  2. Honestly I laughed. I think one should encourage such guff on the grounds this sort of thing is why so few women say they are “feminists”.
Far more dangerous are the quieter and powerful ones such as Jennifer Saunders.

  3. This appeared in an online magazine I’d never heard of before called ‘Heatstreet’. She got completely trashed in the comments, quite rightly. I remember coming across her books in a bookshop and noting that they simply seemed to be an unreferenced stream-of-consciousness rant.

  4. This type of behaviour is really appalling and needs highlighting by the conventional media. Thanks heavens for the internet which has been so helpful in exposing this kind of behaviour.

  5. Caitlin of course is right and I think she should go further. Why not advise young girls to boycott male authors and everything else male. in particular, tools of the patriarchy such as cars, houses, telephones, computers, television, radio, central heating and hairdryers. all things invented, built and maintained almost exclusively by men. That would show em.
