I’ve lived in the throbbing metropolis of Bedford – so good, they named it once – for over 20 years. In my early years I helped with the soup run for the homeless. My winter vegetable soup was the stuff of legend. Today there are many more homeless people getting their sustenance this way, the overwhelming majority of them men, of course.
