Project Ice Maiden: How female explorers face challenges of south pole trek

Another pointless female vanity project funded mainly by male taxpayers. In a piece on BBC News 24 in the past half hour, a member of the expedition said it would inspire women generally to ‘break through the ice ceiling’. The commentator claimed that the expedition was equivalent to those of Shackleton, Scott, Amundsen etc. My head hurts.

I look forward to the women being rescued by men at huge cost somewhere in the Antarctic. You can be very sure their exact location will be known at all times.

Stephanie Thogersen, whiny Swedish feminist, explains one reason Netflix is so successful. 96 percent of movies on Netflix are directed by men.

A few months ago I subscribed to Netflix, and watch programmes on both my TV and laptop. It’s an outstanding service (subscription is about £7.50 pcm, less than the BBC licence fee, and far better value) and I recommend it to people all the time. I often watch comedy on Netflix – most BBC ‘comedy’ these days is unwatchable to anyone with a sense of humour, i.e. feminists excluded – and their content is excellent, including a recent Katherine Ryan Netflix special, ‘In Trouble’. Ryan is an Irish-Canadian comedienne and, in my view, the funniest stand-up comedienne in the world today, by a country mile.

My thanks to Stephanie Thogersen, a whiny Swedish feminist, for articulating one reason Netflix is so successful. Enjoy.

[Update, in response to a comment: Thogersen is described as the head of the Stockholm Feminist Film Festival. We can safely assume there’s one film by a female director that won’t be shown there – The Red Pill, directed by Cassie Jaye.]

Teacher shortage getting worse, say MPs

Our thanks to Stu for this. Another taxpayer-funded female-dominated profession failing miserably – medicine is another obvious example – in large part due to the poor work ethic of so many women. Excerpts:

The government is failing to take adequate measures to tackle “significant teacher shortages” in England, a committee of MPs has said.

The Education Select Committee has called for a long-term plan, as schools struggle to recruit enough teachers and pupil numbers continue to rise.

MPs want more active efforts to reduce the numbers quitting teaching. The Department for Education said there were currently record levels of teachers…

A spokesman said: “We recognise there are challenges.” [The man’s a genius.] But, he said, the department had spent £1.3bn on a recruitment campaign.

The report from the cross-party committee, though, says recruitment targets for teaching had been consistently missed and the teacher shortage is getting worse.

It warns that this causes particular problems in some shortage subjects in secondary school, including physics, maths and computing… [Hmm, why might that be?]

But the MPs say that there is no clear long-term plan to address this – and they suggest there should be greater efforts to keep teachers from leaving the profession and moving to other jobs.

Figures last year showed that almost a third of new teachers who had started jobs in English state schools in 2010 had left within five years.

MPs attack ministers’ lack of action on gender pay gap

The image at the head of the BBC propaganda piece:

Plastic models of a man and woman stand on a pile of coins and bank notes

Maria Miller MP is a blithering idiot. An excerpt from the piece:

Committee chair Maria Miller said: “Without effectively tackling the key issues of flexible working, sharing unpaid caring responsibilities, and supporting women aged over 40 back into the workforce, the gender pay gap will not be eliminated.

“We made practical, evidence-based recommendations to address these issues. They were widely supported by a range of stakeholders including businesses, academics, and unions.

“It is deeply disappointing that our recommendations have not been taken on board by Government,” she added.

Philip Davies MP: Most MPs Are Petrified Of Resisting Feminists. Not Me.

A tip of the hat to Philip Davies for this. An excerpt:

The recurring theme is the number of MPs in different parties who tell me, privately and in a whisper, “Of course you are absolutely right about this, it is all ridiculous” but – with very few but notable exceptions – will not dare to say so publicly.

This highlights two things. Firstly, most MPs lack courage – even to say things which are just plain common sense.

Secondly, it demonstrates how petrified MPs are at standing up to the increasingly extreme feminist agenda, which no longer seems to argue for equality and thinks it is perfectly acceptable to discriminate against men.

Debby Reagan isn’t only a Marine, she’s also an… er… ‘Gnostic Wiccan’

In her three comments on our piece about women in the Royal Navy, Debby Reagan claimed to be a Marine. At her Twitter page @DebbyReagan we find this. The content of her ‘about me’ page:

Debby Reagan

DEBBY REAGAN
Maine
I love to read, write, draw and blog about many things.

I’m a Gnostic Wiccan (as close to a religious label as I can possibly give you) and a naturalist. I’m also interested in the unexplained mysteries of life and death, space/universe, ancient world histories and do believe that there is much life beyond our tiny speck in the universe. I do reviews and commentary on these interests.

It’s remarkable that she fits all that in around her day job of being a Marine. What a woman!

Debby Reagan, Marine (allegedly), comments on our blog piece about the Royal Navy banning posters of glamour models to placate ‘intimidated’ Special Snowflakes

Yesterday we posted this.

One ‘Debby Reagan’, a misandrous woman with anger management issues, who claims to be a Marine, has kindly taken time out from her day job of slaying terrorists with her bare hands to post three lengthy comments, two of them in response to female commenters. I’ve posted counter-comments, and invite you to do likewise.
