  1. “For example, the footballers who were sexually abused when they were younger are, according to Government Policy and the Crown Prosecution Service, classed as being a victim of a crime against a Women and Girl”
Just about sums up the current position. There is already a Domestic Abuse Act recently introduced. Of course in the view of the DV “industry” the chief defect of existing legislation is that it is “Gender Neutral” with the skewed implementation coming from the “Violence Against Women and Girst Strategy”. The “lobby” wants to see VAWG become legislation to end the theoretical neutrality of the Law.

  2. The campaign begins http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-39011224 With the BBC recounting an individual’s story. Interestingly the tale of lying about custody probably chimes with the experience of men. But also its an uncorroborated story in which the courts have taken the highly unusual step of giving custody of children to the father. So in fact it could be a disgruntled ex wife using accusations of abuse to cover her own miss doings. Indeed it appears the court thought there was good reason. But of course women never are in the wrong.
Of course the “increase” is in the prosecutions not the overall number, which has been falling for two decades. And of course the increase reflects policy, for instance the various campaigns and the political focus of the CPS. So in fact the increase could been seen as a “success” in increasing the proportion prosecuted while the incidence continues to reduce.
