Nicola Briers (58) is a parasite

Our thanks to Peter Lloyd for this. The American comedian Bill Burr ended one comedy show with a piece about how men in his country are being financially annihilated by divorce courts awarding outrageous financial settlements to ex-wives, describing it as ‘an epidemic of gold-digging whores’. The epidemic has reached the UK.

In July Herbert Purdy published an insightful piece, Why MGTOW is the best strategy for men. My own contribution to MGTOW literature was published in 2009, The Marriage Delusion – The Fraud of the Rings?

I was recently interviewed at length by a female journalist (working for a major international publication) about MGTOW. I thought she had finally understood my point that MGTOW is a perfectly rational response by men to the current toxic state of gender relations – of marriage, in particular – but her final question was this:

Have you thought of getting counselling for your problem?

CALM: ‘There could be great benefit in researching the impact of testosterone reducing drugs on the rates of suicide in men.’

[Note added 29.11.16: Jane Powell, CEO of CALM, has provided a credible explanation for the text about which we raised concerns, our blog piece on the matter is here.]

I’ve written many times about the irony of CALM – Campaign Against Living Miserably – a charity seeking to reduce the level of male suicide, being led (for the past 10 years) by Jane Powell, a radical feminist. The charity’s narratives invariably focus on the need for men to talk about their feelings more, and rarely about the state-driven stressors that lead men to suicide – denial of access to children, lack of support for male victims of domestic violence, financial destruction in the divorce courts, unemployment, and so much more.

I should be amazed if Jane Powell is not invited to give oral evidence to the Department of Health inquiry on suicide. We’ve been told it’s ‘highly unlikely’ we’ll be invited, after pointing out in our written submission that the state is the prime ‘actor’ driving men to take their lives.

Powell’s written submission to the same inquiry is here. I’d like to draw your attention to the only paragraph in section 7, ‘The need for increased research’:

Despite the evidence that the risk of suicide is disproportionate to men as a whole when compared to women, research is often gender neutral or narrowed beyond gender (e.g. by sexual orientation or age). As a result, there is no specific research carried out on men and societal and environmental factors. Broader, gender specific research could reveal hidden causes of suicide that have not yet been explored. For instance, there could be great benefit in researching the impact of testosterone reducing drugs on the rates of suicide in men, [my emphasis] however the current lens of research funding and its gender neutral approach does not provide a platform for such research.

Testosterone is, of course, the toxic hormone responsible for toxic masculinity. In the warped minds of feminists, reducing testosterone levels in men could only be a good thing. Most men do not give indications that they’re considering suicide, before carrying out the act. What would Powell suggest, you have to wonder – introducing these drugs into the water supply, so the testosterone levels of all men are reduced? Now that would be a radical feminist’s dream, wouldn’t it?

CALM is, predictably, a member organization of the recently-launched feminist-compliant Men and Boys Coalition.

Free tickets for a screening of ‘The Red Pill’, Cambridge, evening of next Saturday, 3 December

Thanks to the generosity of a number of MRAs, The Red Pill will be screened in Cambridge on the evening of next Saturday, 3 December, and tickets are free. We’ve posted a piece about the screening before, and only a few tickets remain, so you’ll need to book your tickets soon, here.

Along with a few other MRAs, I’ll be staying on to answer questions. I look forward to meeting some new faces. There’s a growing number of MRAs in the Cambridge area, and it’s about time students at the University learned the truth about men’s issues, and learned about the state’s assaults on the human rights of men and boys, most of them at the behest of feminists driven by misandry.

Glen Poole bans Mike Buchanan from leaving comments on his InsideMAN website

I’d like to record my appreciation to Glen Poole for saving me time in future, by banning me from leaving comments on his latest article. I learned of the ban when I tried to post the following comments:

Glen, you write:

“I would argue that the two most successful men’s campaigns in the past 10-20 years —– in terms of mainstream reach —- have been the Fathers 4 Justice campaign on the issues facing separated dads (2003-2005 period) and International Men’s Day (and its focus on male suicide) (2015 and 2016).

It may just be coincidence that I took a lead role in both, maybe I got lucky twice, or maybe I’m doing something that works?”

Wow. You’ve done NOTHING that ‘works’. Those campaigns were ‘successful’? The first had mainstream reach but didn’t translate into children / fathers / paternal grandparents getting better access, and as far as suicide is concerned, the only mention of your Men & Boys Coalition in the mainstream media (to the best of my knowledge) were articles by you and Martin Daubney, who’s also a member of the coalition. The wider MSM has ignored you completely.

The government is doing NOTHING about male suicide. The Dept of Health is holding an inquiry which won’t take oral evidence from us, after we pointed out in our written submission that the state is the prime driver of male suicide, something about which you’re in complete denial. If you won’t admit the key problems (the state and feminism) you won’t be able to develop solutions.

To one of the very few commenters who support Glen’s position in any way, his response starts in his trademark, ‘I’m so in touch with my female side right now, can we hug?’ mode:

David

Thank you for listening…….seriously, I’m a bit tearful writing this……because you’ve listened and heard and understood and now we can connect as human beings….rather than simply interact through a clash of opinions.

Denver man freed after 28 years in prison acquitted of rape (and how to dramatically reduce the incidence or rape)

Our thanks to Toy Soldier for this. Extracts:

A Denver man who spent more than a quarter of a century in prison for a rape he long denied committing was acquitted of the crime on Monday, leaving a courtroom to applause from supporters and chants of “it’s over.”

Clarence Moses-EL, 60, was freed in December, after a judge overturned his 1988 conviction on rape and assault charges and found that he would likely be acquitted if his case went to trial again.

Another prisoner claimed to be responsible for the attack, but prosecutors chose to try Moses-EL again. Jurors began deliberating the case last Thursday, and they issued their not guilty verdict Monday — leaving Moses-EL beaming and fighting back tears.

Outside court, Moses-EL said he holds no grudges and hoped his case will help improve the criminal justice system. Right now, he said, he wants to enjoy his freedom…

The victim in the case, a neighbor, initially named three other men as possible attackers, including the inmate, L.C. Jackson, who confessed in 2013. But she accused Moses-EL, saying his face appeared to her in a dream, and a jury convicted him largely based on her testimony. [my emphasis]

He won a legal bid for DNA testing on the evidence to clear his name, but Denver police threw it away a month later, saying they did not receive any notice from prosecutors to hold on to it. [my emphasis]

In 2008, then-Colorado Governor Bill Ritter, a former Denver prosecutor, objected to legislation that would have given Moses-EL a new trial, even though lawmakers strongly supported it.

Moses-EL’s break came when Jackson wrote to Moses-EL in 2013 saying he had sex with the woman that night. Jackson, who is imprisoned for two other rapes, has not been charged in this case, and prosecutors said Monday he is not a suspect. [You couldn’t make it up. The man who (three years ago) admitted to the rape, still isn’t a suspect today.]

In our 2015 general election manifesto (p.31) we pointed to a 1984 study – Heterosexual molestation of children who later became rapists – carried out by American researchers (Petrovich & Templer) in which they discovered that 59% of convicted rapists in one American institution had been sexually abused as children by one or more women, sometimes their own mothers. The conclusion for future action is obvious, and we can be sure feminists will take up our suggestion for dramatically reducing the incidence of rape:

Women should be taught to not sexually assault boys.

Dr Max Pemberton’s column – why won’t Mail Online publish comments about MGM?

My last blog post linked to the online version of Dr Max Pemberton’s column in today’s Daily Mail here. Maybe an hour ago I posted a comment saying Dr Max was wrong in saying that the circumcision of male minors on religious grounds is lawful, it’s been unlawful since at least the Offences Against the Person Act 1861, and arguably under the Common Law before that. It would need a parliamentary override to be legal, and that has never existed. I also gave our party’s name, and stated an end to MGM in the UK has long been our #1 campaigning issue.

Mail Online claims, ‘The comments below have not been moderated’, yet my comment hasn’t been published. Is Mail Online taking the same policy position as The Guardian, and not publishing references to MGM? Let’s test this. I invite followers of this blog to post their own comments, ideally including the illegality point and referring to J4MB, and let’s see what happens. Please let me know the result (mike@j4mb.org.uk). Thanks.

Dr Max Pemberton on FGM, MGM, and cosmetic vaginal surgery

Dr Max Pemberton has a column in the Saturday edition of The Daily Mail, and we applaud him as the only columnist working for a mainstream British newspaper, who publicly challenges MGM.

His article in today’s edition is here. You’ll need to scroll down for the section on FGM, MGM, and cosmetic vaginal surgery, but this is an extract:

Now, the CPS is considering prosecuting doctors who undertake cosmetic vaginal surgery.

While I do not like this type of surgery, if adult women wish to have the shape of their genitals altered (doing so for personal reasons), that is entirely their choice.

The idea of criminal prosecutions over adult cosmetic surgery is particularly absurd when baby boys can legally undergo religious circumcision — a painful operation that can have life-long consequences — without anaesthetic, carried out by someone who isn’t medically qualified.

In any other circumstances, this would be denounced as child abuse. Why is it any different because it serves a parent’s religious beliefs and it’s done on a boy?

Of course Dr Pemberton is wrong in believing ‘baby boys can legally undergo religious circumcision’, and we’ll contact him to inform him of the reality.

Institute of Ideas: ‘What’s Wrong With Men’s Rights?’

Claire Fox (56) is a British writer. She’s the director and founder of the think tank the Institute of Ideas. From her Wikipedia page:

Fox joined the Revolutionary Communist Party (RCP) as a student at the University of Warwick. For the next twenty years, she was one of the RCP’s core activists and organisers, becoming co-publisher of its magazine Living Marxism, until it closed after losing a libel case. Fox stayed with her ex-RCP members when the group transformed itself in the late 1990s into a network around the web magazine Spiked Online and the Institute of Ideas, both based in the former RCP offices.

Predictably, the Institute of Ideas isn’t keen to give exposure to MRAs. So we were interested to learn of this discussion and Q&A (video, 52:29) held recently at their event in London. A sense of the anti-male bias is revealed by the title, ‘What’s Wong With Men’s Rights?’ In the description under the video:

…men’s rights activists or ‘meninists’ claim that…

I know of no MRAs who term themselves ‘meninists’. ‘Meninism’ is a projection by feminists, unable to understand that MRAs aren’t seeking an ideological alternative to feminism, they simply want to see an end to feminism as a cultural force, as it’s an ideology which for 100+ years has been seeking ever more female privilege, regardless of the consequences.

The moderator is Luke Gittos, whose articles for spike include this piece in which he argued that men accused of rape shouldn’t be anonymous. Maybe he’ll be falsely accused of rape one day, with predictable consequences for his career. His opening to the discussion includes this:

I’m generally someone who’s quite sceptical of the whole idea of men’s rights…

So Gittos, the moderator, is anti-male. Not a good start, but what of the panelists? The debate is about men’s rights, so naturally two of the three panelists are (female) feminists. They’re described by Gittos as ‘broadly critical of the men’s rights movement’. Peter Lloyd, the journalist and author of Stand By Your Manhood, does a great job in the face of ridiculous opposition. At 9:35 he comes out with this gem:

Men who support feminism are turkeys voting for Xmas.

The Q&A session is interesting, and includes an excellent contribution about male suicide by Jordan Holbrook (44:06).
