Anthony Glees is a professor of Politics at the University of Buckingham, and directs its Centre for Security and Intelligence Studies.
This morning he was interviewed by Kaye Adams for her show on BBC Radio Scotland, on the subject of MI5 (the domestic ‘secret service’) seeking to recruit middle-aged mothers as intelligence officers, as part of its drive to reach a gender balanced workforce. His defence of this drive ranks as one of the most embarrassing examples of gynocentrism-driven toadying it has been my misfortune to encounter. You can listen to it on iPlayer here, from 1:54:30 – 2:00:15, for the next 29 days. I wouldn’t want to save the embarrassing exchange for posterity.
He’ll say whatever he thinks he has to say – he’d say the world was flat if he thought that would help.
His kind are 10 a penny and always have been.
