Andy Bob’s brief profile on AVfM:
Andy Bob frequently makes some of the most interesting comments on articles at A Voice for Men and occasionally appears on our front page. He is a long time Men’s Human Rights Activist (MHRA), and as a gay man he takes a dim view of feminists who attempt to hijack gay issues.
Brotherhood is the final article in Andy’s four-part series explaining why gay men don’t need feminism, and there are links to the previous three articles in it. We recommended the series highly.
Well, I can only cite first-hand, real-world experience of England during the seventies, eighties, nineties and noughties, but the story here at least is a simple one. Gay men won gay men their current status, not feminists. Few lesbians, let alone feminist lesbians, were involved in any campaigning pertaining to sexual orientation, since homosexual women were not at the time subject to the same social opprobrium as the gay male of the species. Feminists have only latterly tried to claim ‘credit’ on behalf of every minority group known to man, and it is only feminists who believe that they have had a positive effect on anything other than, possibly, sales of armpit-hair dye, actual Men’s Human Rights Activist numbers and dictionaries with faulty entries under the letter ‘F’. Gay men owe feminists less than nothing.
