Our thanks to Ray for pointing us to an article published yesterday in the Islington Gazette, which inspired this award. The article is headed with a photograph of Ghislaine Boddington, and refers to her as ‘a leading tech boss’. What are we to make of this? Is Ms Boddington the Chief Executive of Microsoft? IBM? Hewlett Packard? Or at least a board member? Er, no. She’s the Creative Director of body>data>space (no, we haven’t heard of them either).
There are two reasons she’s won the August award, and they’re outlined on her award certificate:
I’d like to write something but I can’t. Other than to agree with you that she certainly deserves the award, words fail me.
STEAM? What next? Could we get women’s studies in there, somewhere?

Religion is an obvious omission from the list of areas in which women are under-represented, in some religions, at least, so… STREAM?

PS: The A is for art and design, isn’t it? I worked in graphics for fifteen years, up until 1991, and there’s no under-representation of women in that field.
