Some of the interviewer’s interjections and observations were pointless and counter-productive. He was also inadequate as a devil’s advocate, making several points that were nothing more than current gynocentric orthodoxy and not at rational. The childishness and stupidity of much of what he said was sadly all too typical of the modern, metrosexual media male.
He certainty did seem to be denying the obvious on more than a few occasions and that hampered the discussion quite a bit which was a shame. That said, he was polite at least and did sometimes ask more challenging and interesting questions than most. Mike handled almost all of these rather well, though was stumped by the question about gay men (though this can of course happen easily when put on the spot without the chance to give a considered response).
There is of course plenty in the manifesto for homosexuals. De-politicising domestic violence would really help lesbians in particular as well as gay men, lesbian relationships tend to be more violent and abusive than any other type. Suicide is a major issue too for gay men and clearly of huge importance to Mike and J4M&B. Health is another important concern, and page 63 of the manifesto identifies the need to give boys the HPV vaccine, noting that by far the main beneficiaries of this proposal would be gay men.
