About three weeks ago Ray Barry was interviewed on BBC Radio Hereford & Worcester about the government’s plans to punish men for not making child support payments, even while the state denies the men access to their children. As always, Ray put in a sterling performance. He’s a radio natural. The piece is here.

Deepika Bhardwaj: ‘Why I chose to fight for men’
Deepika Bhardwaj is an Indian documentary filmmaker who is working on a film about the appalling legal position of married men in India, which is leading many of them to suicide. Her article has just been published on AVfM along with two short but moving trailers for her forthcoming film, Martyrs of Marriage – here. She’s a brave and honourable woman, and we wish her every success.
Mike Buchanan interviewed on BBC Radio Scotland about gender-balanced cabinets, boards…
One of the first actions of Nicola Sturgeon, after her recent appointment as the new First Minister of Scotland, was to announce her first cabinet would consist of five men and five women. Apparently, on the basis of merit, exactly the same number of men and women deserved the posts, although barely more than a third of the members of the Scottish parliament are women. Righto.
Last Monday I was interviewed at some length on BBC Radio Scotland about the issue of gender balance at the top of organisations, in politics and elsewhere, and of course there had to be an obligatory feminist throwing around silly comments. There generally is – sometimes two, with a hostile female presenter, for good measure. But I have no complaints about the female presenter in this case, and later called the programme to ask that my appreciation be passed on to her.

Ian McNicholl, a survivor of extreme domestic violence, on ‘Loose Women’
Last night I publicly challenged Julie Bindel over claims she’d made during a debate (with Zara Faris) concerning the gendered nature of domestic violence. More on that in due course, but it’s timely that a supporter has just uploaded video footage of Ian McNicholl, a survivor of extreme domestic violence, on the ITV programme Loose Women two day ago. We’ve added a few notes underneath the video, and urge you to support male victims of domestic violence by making a donation to Mankind Initiative – here. Thank you.
Please leave any comments you may have about Ian’s interview on our YouTube channel, not here.
Caprizchka: ‘A brief history of feminism, and why it’s always been wrong’
It’s simply impossible to keep up with the ever-growing tide of strong material being published, but this piece published last week by Caprizchka, an American cigar-smoking anti-feminist of the female persuasion, is a bit special, we think.
William Collins: ‘Paternity Fraud – Part 2’
Another excellent piece.
Belinda Brown: Women as combat soldiers? We don’t need an equal opportunity to kill.
An interesting new piece by Belinda Brown for The Conservative Woman.
Karen Straughan: “Ban Bossy?” Or would “Ban Feminist” be more appropriate?
Ian McNicholl on ‘Loose Women’
Ian McNicholl is a survivor of extreme domestic violence, and a most remarkable man. I had the honour of meeting him after his deeply moving presentation at a Mankind Initiative conference on male victims of DV. I’ve just learned he’s to appear on tomorrow’s edition of Loose Women, on ITV. The programme runs from 12:30 – 13:30, and we hope to put the piece onto our YouTube channel in due course.
Our blog piece on his presentation at the conference, and a link to his slides, are here.
We applaud ITV for giving exposure to Ian’s story.
Why depressed men are dying for someone to talk to
Suicide is the leading cause of death of men under 50 in the UK, so this should prove interesting for all who care about men’s welfare.
