Every day brings evidence that Catherine Hakim’s Preference Theory reveals the truth about the differences in men’s and women’s work-centredness. The latest ‘stating the blindingly obvious’ report by two female ‘researchers’, brought to us by a female ‘journalist’:
From the article:
For many women, trying to balance childcare responsibilities with a busy career can be a struggle.
We understand the two researchers are now planning to seek the answers to two long-standing mysteries:
– what is the Pope’s religion?
– where do bears crap? In woods, or in telephone kiosks?
As usual , like the Fawcet Society , the focus is on “middle class” mothers. Not mothers who have to work . It also notes women without children are happy to join the “macho culture” . And what are examples of “macho” well such testosterone fueled behaviours as starting work early ,working late to meet deadlines and socialising with clients. Somehow what anyone would expect of high flyers to merit their high salaries. Many men similarly compromise to achieve a ‘balance” but they don’t appear to whine about the result of their choices and don’t expect to be high flyers without putting in the work.In a global competitive Market can any high flyer afford to be part time in attitude and work?
