There is evidence that if children under 36 months spend too long away from their natural parents, they will start to develop symptoms of abandonment that will compromise their adult life…
Broken children, broken adults and broken communities, means a more expansive and intrusive state. If we want to keep the nanny state out of our lives then we need to start taking better care of our children…
I will also make the case for stay at home dads. All we needed for a fairer society was to start moving away from rigid traditional gender roles into more flexible ones, but all we got instead was the removal of men from households, especially in the lower classes. All that Conservatives tend to pull out of their hats is a return to traditional gender roles which is both counterproductive and disagreeable to a new generation that values more freedom and less conformity.
