Sandi Toksvig gives Jeremy Corbyn a run for his money

Our thanks to Alan for this link to a brief interview in The Guardian in which Toksvig laments the overlooked and underestimated half of the population (women, in her estimation) and comes out with this hilarious quote regarding the Women’s Equality Party’s last General Election campaign:

It hardly got any press but we had the most successful general election of any party. We could only afford to stand in five seats so we stood against five male MPs with allegations of sexual impropriety against them. Four stood down and one lost his seat, so we were 100% successful in our plan. It’s a different way of doing politics and I’m hugely proud of it.”

As Alan points out:

In her world the loss of their deposit in every seat they stood for with an average vote of 0.9% means they had ‘the most successful general election of any party.’. In reality of course they are not as successful the results of the party that won – that would be the conservatives, or even as successful as the party that did historically badly (the labour party).

How can she say such ridiculous things without being challenged?”

The woman is more deluded than Jeremy “won the argument” Corbyn!
