More men than women die as a consequence of domestic violence

It’s often claimed by feminists that it’s reasonable that the vast majority of places in refuges are allocated to women only, because more women than men are killed by partners and ex-partners. We hear nothing of suicides provoked by being a victim of domestic violence. We’ve just been informed of an interesting paper written by an American researcher, Richard Davis, and published in 2009 by the Journal of Aggression, Conflict and Peace Studies. Link here. One of the findings of the study, reported in the Abstract, was this:

When domestic violence-related suicides are combined with domestic violence homicides, the total numbers of domestic violence-related deaths are higher for males than females.

About Mike Buchanan

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.
