New Mouth Inc. The most stupid series of emails J4MB has ever received?

We receive a surprising number of emails from companies wishing us to add their website details to our list of recommended websites. One of our pieces was on Maria Miller MP owning some breed of dog – I forget which – and a woman from an organization promoting the breed expected me to be thrilled to add her website to our list of recomended websites.

Some are more persistent than others. On 10 March, four weeks ago, I received the following email from an American woman promoting an American dentistry-related company:

Hello Mike,

My name is [name redacted], and I represent the Community Outreach team here at NewMouth.com. I found the Justice for Men and Boys website while browsing through other health-related websites and was impressed with the informative resources your site displays.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, over 31% of adults between ages 20-44 have untreated dental caries. One out of every two American adults over 30 has periodontal disease. New Mouth was created to keep the public educated about current dental care practices, oral health basics, and how to find the best treatment possible. Our team of medical writers and dentists provide the most up-to-date dental information in every vertical, including general, pediatric, restorative, cosmetic, and orthodontics. We also connect patients with the best dentists in their area depending on individual treatment needs. Our goal is to be a one-stop-shop for all of your dental and oral health needs!

Will you please take a moment and review our website and consider mentioning it on your Resources page found at http://voices.avoiceformen.com/j4mb/recommended-websites/? I look forward to hearing your thoughts. Please let me know if you have any additional questions. [J4MB: Several occur to us…]

I really appreciate your help!

I didn’t respond, and on 24 March, two weeks later, I received this email:

Hi Mike,

I tried contacting this address a few weeks ago about adding our link (https://www.newmouth.com/dentistry/) to your Resources page and I just wanted to follow-up with you as I never heard back. I hope that this email finds you well! Please keep up the outstanding work that your site provides to those in need of support!

*We also just updated our new “Oral Health Basics” page here: https://www.newmouth.com/oral-health/ – which we believe will be very relevant for your website visitors!

I really appreciate all of your help,

Again I didn’t respond, and earlier this evening I received this email, clearly the woman had gone on a course which advised sending poorly directed emails in a series, at fortnightly intervals:

Hi Mike,

Over the past month, I’ve sent you a few different emails regarding my organization’s web page and I still haven’t heard back from anyone. I would really appreciate it if you would let me know if you are receiving my emails or if I should attempt to contact someone else within your organization. We would still love for our organization https://www.newmouth.com/dentistry/ to be placed as another valuable resource on your Resources page.

*We also just updated our “General Dentistry” page here: https://www.newmouth.com/dentistry/general-dentistry/ – which we believe will be very relevant for your website visitors!

I really appreciate all of your help,

As soon as I’ve posted this blog piece, I’m going to send this email to the woman:

Thank you. Your website is very impressive, and I would struggle to find anything more relevant to the supporters of a British political party than an American website concerned with  dentistry. All British people have famously poor teeth, a staple of American comedy (Austin Powers etc.) I’ve just posted the following blog piece, which hopefully will please your employer:

Have a nice day.
