As much as I admire The Spectator, I despair at its admission of pieces written by feminists (Germaine Greer, Julie Bindel and Julie Birchill come to mind). The cartoons are another source of ideological assault. On the same page as the excellent article by Rod Liddle to which we linked an hour ago, was this. It’s a cartoon of a meeting chaired by a man (boo!) and of the 10 people around the table, just three are women (boo!). The man leading the meeting says this, to the evident delight of the sinister-looking ‘Jeff’:
Well, Jeff gave his opinion the loudest, so let’s go with his idea.
The cartoonist is ‘Grizelda’, her website is here. A small number of her cartoons appear for a few seconds, I’ve screen grabbed two of them – here.
How many readers of The Spectator would be aware, when looking at Grizelda’s cartoons, that they’re being subjected to feminist anti-male propaganda? Not one in 1,000, would be my guess. I’ve been reading The Spectator for years, and must have seen many of her cartoons. Only this evening did it occur to me to look into her work and find the anti-male bias. She’s paid by the magazine to spread feminist propaganda, we’re paid nothing to expose it.
