Brandon Vezmar, 37, Texan, sues first date, 35, for $17.31 for texting at movie

They do things differently in Texas. An inspiring piece in today’s Times.

Mr Vezmar, 37, claims his 35-year-old date ‘activated her phone at least 10-20 times in 15 minutes to read and send text messages’. You have to admire a man who calls a woman to account, even whilst knowing the likely consequences. An extract:

He said he had asked her to stop (texting), but she refused. When he insisted, she left the Barton Creek Square multiplex – and never came back. This was a problem for Mr Vezmar as she was driving, and he had no other way of getting home.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

Texans, Mike. They sure know how to play it straight.

If the world was made up of Texans, lies would cease to exist.
