Maria Mills, 51, is a parasite

Our thanks to Lars for this. The start of the piece:

A divorced wife who secured almost all of the ready cash when her marriage broke up 15 years ago has won an order that her former husband must support her for life because she has spent the money.

Maria Mills, 51, a former estate agent, won a £230,000 lump sum plus £1,100 monthly maintenance payments when she split with her “reliable and truthful” husband, Graham, 50, after 13 years of marriage in 2002.

However, she invested unwisely in a series of London properties so as to climb the housing ladder, losing all the money she was given and plunging herself heavily into debt.

[She – not her ex-husband – would have benefitted personally if her investment decisions had been successful. But they were unsuccessful, and the ex-husband is, in effect, being held financially responsible for her decisions. Outrageous.]

Senior judges at the Court of Appeal in London have now ordered that Mrs Mills’s monthly payouts be increased to £1,441 and told her ex-husband that he must support her for life as she is unable to meet her basic needs.

Their ruling came despite pleas by Mr Mills that he should not be the insurer against the wife’s poor financial decisions and forced to “pick up the tab” 15 years after they separated. It will fuel pressure for reform to end the so-called meal-ticket for life.

If everyone who read this gave us just £1 – or even better, £1 monthly – we could change the world. Click here to make a difference. Thanks.

I'm a men's human rights advocate, writer, and publisher. My primary focus is leading the political party I launched in 2013, Justice for Men & Boys (and the women who love them). I still work actively on two campaigns I launched in early 2012, Campaign for Merit in Business and the Anti-Feminism League. In 2014 I launched The Alternative Sexism Project, aiming to raise public understanding that the sexism faced by men and boys has far more grievous consequences than the sexism faced by women and girls.

Someday Mike, someday men will FINALLY have enough of this insanity. Sadly, today is not that day and men will continue to be the abused and oppressed gender. And that is because we allow it…

    • Men have been putting up with this sort of nonsense for two million years so don’t expect things to change any time soon.

Think of the things a woman brings, or should bring to the marriage table.

Persuant to the principle of equality, I take it she will, for her part, continue to supply and indeed increase the supply of these things also?

    • Slowcoach

Outrageous – yes, odious – certainly.

But also a piece of miasmic and misandric legal flatulence that will bring the ‘wind of change’ howling though the courts with all the more force because of itself.

Clearly a case of a “white knight” Judge looking after the “ladies”. Part of the double edged “whammy” for the modern man. Conservative or Feminist both want men to work for women. I was interested that Scotland is referred to as having a limit of 3 years spousal support. The law in England clearly needs change. At 51 Maria Mills is not past working for a living.

Every day that passes it becomes more and more obvious that western women are a privileged group that will not to be held personally or collectively responsible for what they say, what they do, who they have sex with, when they choose to have babies; for their business transactions or when they commit crimes, while demanding special privileges in every aspect of society at the same time.
It has been obvious for some time now that they, as a group, have become intolerable and dangerous for any man to have a relationship with, let alone marry.
And now these same women wonder why there are fewer and few men willing to risk their lives and sanity in relationships with them, while at the same time, in a massive display of arrogance, blame men for not stepping up.
All of this accompanied by not one hint of introspection or self awareness.
