Diane James quits as Ukip leader after just 18 days

Diane James has sensationally quit as Ukip leader tonight just 18 days after winning the race to succeed Nigel Farage.

Party sources said the 51-year-old had been ‘deeply unhappy’ in her new role and had given up because of personal reasons.

    Apparently Diane James did not know this, being “shaken” and suffering ‘feelings’ of “unhappiness”.

    Yes, it’s tough at the top it’s true.
    Mr. Farage = “decades”,
    Diane James = 18 days.

    Perhaps there’s a lesson there somewhere – can you spot it I wonder?

  • I do wonder if, given that better candidates made some stupid errors with their paperwork, whether she intended to do this and trigger another election in which those people could have a second bite at the cherry.
